Oct 27 2013 - Atlantic Cross Country - Moncton
SJTC & Saint John area athletes attended the Atlantic Cross Country Champs this past weekend in Moncton.
Connor McCluskey of River Valley Middle School had a strong race in the boys aged 12-13 2500m race winning in a time of 10.11.9.
Following up on his NBIAA win, Brady Graves won the Boys 14-15 3000m and Simone Delaney of Hampton placed 2nd in the 14-15 girls 3000m.
Josh Shanks continued his winning ways with a strong result to win in the boys aged 16-17 6km.
This marks the end of the regional cross country schedule for 2013.
Oct 26 2013 - Subway AUS XC Championships
SJTC athletes were making a big impact at the AUS Cross Country Championships this weekend.
In the Girls 6 km race, UNB Rookie Katie Robinson continued her strong season by placing 8th which qualified her to attend the CIS championships in London next month. This continued Katies strong rookie season and resulted in her being named AUS Rookie of the Year.
In the Men's 10km race, Matt McNeil lead the Dal team with a strong 2nd place finish. He has qualifed as well for the CIS championshipsagain this year and will was names to the AUS all star team.
Way to go Katie and Matt.

NBIAA Provincial Cross Country Championship - Tracadie – October 18, 2013

The NBIAA Cross Country Championships concluded with an exciting finish earlier today.
Over 220 high school runners showed up to Tracadie-Sheila to vie for top three positions and a chance at the NBIAA team banners.
Jr Girls - Laura Dickinson of Miramichi Valley High School captured the junior girls 3km race with a time of 11:29.70, narrowly beating out Emma Fudge and sibling Megan Fudge of Fundy High School with times of 11:36.90 and 11:37.60 respectively. In the team competition we had the rare occurrence of the top 3 teams being seperated by only 2 points, with Fundy High School winning the banner with 91 points, W A Losier in 2nd with 92 points, and Bernice MacNaughton in 3rd with 93 points.
Sr Girls - Canadian youth 3000m gold medalist Luisa Schwarz of Ecole Sainte-Anne captured the senior girls 4km race with a time of 14:07:70, beating out Hannah Arsenault of Saint John High School and Taylor Dunn of Fredericton High School with times of 15:26.90 and 15:30.60 respectively. The team banner went to Saint John High School.
Jr Boys - Brady Graves of Saint John High School captured the junior boys 4km with a time of 13:40.60, beating out competitors Michael Colford of Fredericton High School and Gavin Westbrook of Oromocto High School with times of 13:56.00 and 14:01.90 respectively. The team title went to Fredericton High School.
Sr Boys - World Youth Championships team Canada member Josh Shanks captured the senior boys 5km with a blazing fast time of 15:52.60, with Angus MacIntosh of Riverview High School and Pierre Dumouchel of Ecole Samuel de Champlain claiming second and third in times of 16:41.90 and 17:15.60 respectively. Ecole Polyvalente W.-A.-Losier captured the team banner.
''These championships were a great success, it was quite exciting to see so many close battles in the team competition and many exceptional individuals performances'' said Gabriel LeBlanc, Technical Director of Athletics New Brunswick. J.D. Irving Invitational - Elementary Cross Country Meet
Organized by the Saint John Track Club: October 9, 2013
A near record 700 Elementary School runners from Southern NB came together to compete at the 9th Annual JD Irving Invitational Cross Country Meet. It was held at the Wolastoq Park in West Saint John and organized by the Saint John Track Club. In Cross Country competitions team scores are calculated by totaling the finish positions of a school’s top 4 runners. The school with the lowest total is the winner. The individual and team results from the events were as follows.
