Jun 17 2010 - Coach Coffin's Weekly Update

Hi everyone,

Hopefully everyone who is competing at Hersheys this Saturday in Oromocto has already registered. If you haven't and you are between the ages of 9 and 14, be sure to message Dave at to see if you can still register. The meet starts at 1pm on Saturday.

Congratulations to everyone who competed in the hurricane at Middle School Provincials:) Sorry to anyone who attended the Gondola Point practice that night as we tried to communicate that the practice was cancelled.

For kids staying in the SJ area on Sunday, the Do It for Dad 5K is a great event!!

Don't forget to let Bill know if you are planning to attend the Legion Provincials in the Miramichi the last weekend of June.

Pro Tip of the Week: Be ready for a change of pace if you are running a distance race. A lot of races over 400 meters involve pace play and this can affect your performance if you haven't mentally rehearsed all possible scenarios beforehand. Being mentally ready is half the battle and can give you a huge advantage over your competition:) If you want to be aggressive, make sure you have a plan!

Have a great weekend everyone!!
