Jun 24 2007 - Provincial Legion Meet

Saint John Athletes Have Strong Showing At Provincial Legion Meet: June 23, Miramichi, N.B.   150 youth from across New Brunswick competed in the June 23th Royal Canadian Legion Provincials in Miramichi. The meet, organized by Athletics NB and the Legion, featured exciting races and field events as athletes strive to strive to be selected for the NB team at the National Legion Championships being held in Oromocto this July.
Saint John area athletes faired well with a number of personal bests and top 6 finishes as shown in the results below.   The Legion National Track and Field Championships are now in their 30th year and it will be the 3rd time that they have been hosted in Oromocto. These championships are divided into two sections - one consisting of a two-day meet and the second, two days of training clinics, attended by approximately 400 athletes and coaches. The objective is to provide a challenging competitive program for Canadian youth involved in track and field and to provide a development program. The Legion program has proven to be a key stepping stone for many Canadian Olympians. Results

Jun 19 2007 - Provincial Middle School

Over 400 youth from across New Brunswick competed in the June 18th Provincial Middle School Track & Field Championships held at the Canada Games Stadium Track in Saint John. Reigning District 6 Champion, Harry Miller Middle School of Rothesay, N.B. won the overall team championship with a total of 578 points over 2nd place George Street of Fredericton with 460 points and 3rd place Albert Street with 366 points.    The Saint John Track Club is proud to note that the only triple winners at the event were members of our club. Congrats to our triple winners Kate Robinson, Erin Kelly and Nick MacMackin. Other club members who won their events were Trevor Floyd, Casey Currie, Geoff Wilson, Grace Annear and Peter Obrien.    Congratulations to everyone who competed. Full result at ANB Web Site

Jun 17 2007 - Provincial Hershey Meet

Saint John Athletes Have Strong Showing At Provincial Hershey Meet: June 16, Dieppe, N.B.   Over 250 youth from across New Brunswick competed in the June 16th Hershey Provincials at the Anna Malenfant Track in Dieppe. The meet, organized by Athletics NB, featured exciting races and field events for youth aged 9-14. 
Saint John area athletes faired well with Catherine Tremblay leading the day with three first place finishes in the 100 m, 800m, and Standing Long Jump in the girls 13-14 age group. Double winners were Katie Robinson (100M & 400M), Geoff Wilson (100M & 200M), Nick MacMackin (400m & 800m) and Danielle French (50m & 200m).   The top six athletes in each of the events from this meet are invited to participate in the Atlantic Hershey Championships to be held on Sunday July 8th in Dieppe. Hershey Officials for the North American Final will compare times for top finishers at the Atlantic event to the results from other Region 6 championships held in Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Newfoundland, Rhode Island and Vermont. They will then select a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 25 children from the Atlantic Provinces to attend the North American Final to be held in Hershey, Pennsylvania in early August. All expenses for the event are funded by the Hershey Chocolate Company. In 2006, New Brunswick sent five qualifiers to the North American event. -         Top 3 finishes for all Saint John Area athletes. Top 3 from Greater SJ -         Full results can be seen at
